This figure shows the temperature difference between two 20-year simulations of WACCM3. Ozone is fully interactive in the first simulation. A zonal mean and monthly mean ozone climatology is constructed from the interactive simulation. This ozone climatology is used for the radiative heating rate calculations in the second simulation. The temperature difference is for the fully interactive minus the not-interactive ozone simulation. Contour interval is 1 K. Shading indicates the regions where differences are statistically significant at least at the 90% level, based on a t-test with 20 degrees of freedom.
